I'm trying to make a little KM-system for my own home files.

It will contain this:

- Articles from online newspapers (PDF, i.e. Wall Street Journal)
- Reports (PDF or OpenOffice Word, i.e. from OECD)
- Graphics (JPEG-images, tables with info, graphs etc.)
- Spreadsheet (OpenOffice spreadsheet-files)
- Other (for other types of files)

I've looked at the various documentation pages and also watched some of the online videos, including the first few minutes of the Metadata-video.
I must admit I gave up pretty quickly.
It looks overwhelming.
I do know XML and even have a few years of experience coding C and C++, but that dates back to 1997-2003, so I'm rusty to say the least.

Therefore, if it is not too much trouble, I'd like to ask if a kind soul show me step by step how to achieve adding a metadata structure like the one in the JPEG-image I've attached?

I will be very grateful for all the help I can get.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks!

Best,
Henrik

Start here, http://wiki.openkm.com/index.php/Proper ... nistration read with patience ( follow all links, there're about 4 links to be followed ). It's easier than it seems.

If you want to collaborate with some tab for showing metadata as graphical view you're wellcome to collaborate with us

Thanks, jllort :)

I have looked into the various documentation pages and found out how to add a Property Group.
It is indeed not very hard, but then again, few things are when you know how to do them :)

I appreciate your help on the matter.
Right now I don't need to show metadata as a graphical view, so I will not look further into that.
Thanks for offering to collaborate on it though.

I appreciate your responses to my questions - thanks again :)

Best,
Henrik
