Hi all,
in feature "Create new document from template", if the selected document is a .pdf and has some Property_Groups (metadata) associated with it, then a creation wizard popup will appear.
If the document is not a .pfd (e.g. is a .doc file) the Property_Groups (metadata) associated to the template is not prompted for entry of values upon creation of the new document and the Property_Group is not automatically associated to it.
Is there a special reason for the Property_Groups metadata copying feature at creation from template being peculiar to pdf files?
Many thanks,
Armando

Metadata in templates view (only in case .odt, .pdf or .html) is used to fill contents and that's the reason why is copying ( in other types has no effect ). There's a feature in our roadmap to extend every type, but is still not already implemented.

jllort, thank you for your clarification and for the disclosure of some implementation plans.
I think the extension of the feature to all file types is important since through the prompting of the associated property_group of descriptive metadata each time a specific template is used will allow the enforcing of appropriate document management practices for specific document types.
Best regards,
Armando

Every document has its own problems when using as template. Currently we have the solution for text, html, OpenOffice and PDF documents. Comments and contributions are welcome.
