5.1.11 Migration to 6.2.2 - category migration?

Hello all. I have migrated a 5.1.11 community instance to a 6.2.2 community instance. The migration guide was very helpful; I was able to export my repository with meta data and history. User accounts went over per the migration guide, data imported as expected with meta data intact. The one major 'problem' I have is that we use categories *alot* in our 5.1.11 repository. Are their any database queries or additional migration steps I should perform to migrate categories? In a similar fashion to how user accounts were migrated (database queries), I am hoping categories can be migrated as well as which categories were assigned to documents that were migrated.

I still have my 5.1.11 instance running - we're thinking of migrating to professional 6.x, I was simply trying to test a migration to 6.x and found this 'problem' regarding category migration.

The order is important. First should import categories node and then taxonomy not in reverse order and both with same exporting checkbox selected.

Thanks for the information jllort! When you talk about importing categories node.... is there special database queries in order to export and import categories and the documents associated with each category?

In the 5.1.11 -> 6.2 migration guide there are special database queries which help me export/import users. When I perform a repository export and import, I only have options (check boxes) to export history and metadata.

So if there is a database query to export/import categories, could you please share that?

If I understand you correctly, the migration export sequence should be: 1) export repository with history/metadata from 5.1.11. 2) Run user and role database queries in 5.1.11. 3) ?Run category database queries to export categories their associated documents in 5.1.11.

To import into 6.2.2... 1) run user and role database queries to add users. 2) Run category database queries to import categories and which documents will end up being associated with them. 3) Import the repository with same history and metadata boxes checked.
