Hi guys!

I have read a lot of posts regarding openoffice integration but unfortunately to myself I did not find anything that would help me. First of all I would like to say that I downloaded and installed OKM CE 5.1.10. All this works under opensuse server (don't remember the ver#). In addition to that I installed openoffice 3.2.1. In general I have the next list of pkgs installed:
Code: Select all
| OpenOffice_org | 3.2.1.6 | A Free Office Suite (Framework) | 6.9 M
| OpenOffice_org-branding-upstream | 3.2.1.6 | xOriginal Branding for OpenOffice.org | 631.0 K
| OpenOffice_org-components | 3.2.1.6 | xOpenOffice.org Components | 11.2 M
| OpenOffice_org-converter | 3.0 | xCommandline Document Converter Using OpenOffice.org | 10.1 K
| OpenOffice_org-filters | 3.2.1.6 | xImport and Export Filters for OpenOffice.org | 16.2 M
| OpenOffice_org-icon-themes | 3.2.1.6 | xIcon Themes for OpenOffice.org | 33.3 M
| OpenOffice_org-libs-core | 3.2.1.6 | xOpenOffice.org Core Libraries | 49.8 M
| OpenOffice_org-libs-extern | 3.2.1.6 | xOpenOffice.org External Libraries | 25.6 M
| OpenOffice_org-libs-gui | 3.2.1.6 | xOpenOffice.org GUI Libraries | 37.3 M
| OpenOffice_org-pyuno | 3.2.1.6 | xPython UNO Bridge for OpenOffice.org | 243.0 K
| OpenOffice_org-ure | 3.2.1.6 | xOpenOffice.org UNO Runtime Environment | 14.9 M
When OpenKM starts I can see that soffice is also starting:
Code: Select all
root@ukuwbseeuintra:izemlian# ps auxww | grep soff
root 773 0.0 1.5 172332 47664 ? Sl 00:11 0:01 /usr/lib/ooo3/program/soffice.bin -accept=socket,host=127.0.0.1,port=2002;urp; -env:UserInstallation=file:///tmp/.jodconverter_socket_host-127.0.0.1_port-2002 -headless -nocrashreport -nodefault -nofirststartwizard -nolockcheck -nologo -norestore
I even saw that under some circumstances new *.pdf files appear in openkm-5.1/jboss-4.2.3.GA/cache/pdf/
Code: Select all
root@ukuwbseeuintra:pdf# ll
total 8K
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 160 Sep 3 23:49 .
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 120 Sep 3 18:35 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4075 Sep 3 23:46 6632df34-4a6b-4e73-ac2b-c5e3470d4b04.pdf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4075 Sep 3 19:06 9565fe1c-141b-4fac-8752-59bdc35a47d7.pdf
root@ukuwbseeuintra:pdf#
But in fact these files are in the same size and they are not pdf files (the structure of those files is weird).

The preview functionality works for pdf and png files but does not work for doc, xls, ppt.

I enabled full debug output and collected this into server-debug.log.gz file (attached). For your convenience the file finishes exactly after i pressed on 'Preview' tab and got an error about 'There was a problem with the conversion generation'. Could you please help me to identify the root cause of my issue?

Thank you in advance.

Try in our online demo uploading some doc and try converting to pdf if in demo is going right but in your system not, then there's some problem with soffice service started by openkm.

Is there a way to debug what openoffice does when it is executed by openkm? Is there a method to check if openoffice is able to convert doc->pdf in commandline mode separately from openkm?

Another path - is to have openoffice running on another machine and configure openkm to use remote daemon.

Thank you in advance.

Use remote daemon is able in 6.0 but not comes by default in 5.x, but this is not the problem, the normal configuration should be get running in your server.

For what I understand doc to pdf is not converting no ? Which is your OS and how did you install openoffice

Right, the process of converting of doc|xls|ppt->pdf does not work. All this staff is working under SuSE Linux Server. And as I said before I have OO ver.3.2.1.6 installed on it.

Best regards.
Igor.

I have fresh installation of CentOS 64, JAVA 64, Libreoffice 3.4.5.2 (64). And i faced with the problem that libreoffice is not working without X. As soon as i have server version of CentOS (no graphics, just text console) and after searching the web i decided to use Xvfb to run libreoffice in command line mode. Unfortunately i was totally unable to integrate libreoffice into openkm. When openkm starts it shows the info like this:
Code: Select all
11:49:34,752 INFO [ProcessPoolOfficeManager] ProcessManager implementation is UnixProcessManager
11:49:35,096 INFO [OfficeProcess] starting process with acceptString 'socket,host=127.0.0.1,port=2002,tcpNoDelay=1' and profileDir '/tmp/.jodconverter_socket_host-127.0.0.1_port-2002'
11:49:35,163 INFO [OfficeProcess] started process; pid = 4788
11:50:05,247 WARN [RepositoryStartupServlet] failed to start and connect
and after that i receive a lot of error messages like this:
Code: Select all
Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: connection failed: 'socket,host=127.0.0.1,port=2002,tcpNoDelay=1'; java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused
Did someone able to run the most recent version of libreoffice on the server without X?

Thank you in advance.
