Could you test in our online demo demo.openkm.com and tell us if not runs there ?
If not runs send to us the files which you're using to testing it.

Hello,
I've installed 5.1.8 from scratch on ubuntu.
Setup pdf2swf, libreoffice and tesseract.
I can see preview of pdf and doc files, but the search doesn't work.

What should I check?

1- First try with text file.
2- Then with .doc
3- Finally with pdf with text and pdf with images.

Which king of query are you doing in search panel.
Could you try in our online demo ? and verify there too ?

Hi! Thank you for the reply!
I've tried with txt file - doesn't work... (works on your demo).
File is text with the only line "test" in it. The query is "test" also. Works in demo.

May it be related with permissions? I'm starting openkm with openkm user (http://wiki.openkm.com/index.php/Config ... ss_service) the user has login disabled, but has a valid shell (without it script doesn't work).

Regards,

No it's not a problem of configuring jboss as service or not. You've other kind of problem.
Tell us:
- your OS version.
- when you uploading other text file the server.log output
- which dbms are you using if you changed from which comes by default

I have also had this problem. I first tested uploading a OCR'd pdf, and then searching by content, and received no results. I then tested with a plain text file and performed a search by content with no results. Both files worked correctly in the online demo. Is there anything specific the content search is dependent on so I know where to troubleshoot?

Really should be the same, you're using version 5.1.8 ? It's a fresh installation ? Which OS ?
Can you send us some file to test it, and which search are you doing ... ( better if it's a text file ... because with it can discard possible OCR engine problems.

The same problem.
I created and added simple test document and tried to search by content but nothing found.
Search by name works good.

Just getting to know OpenKM, but:

Running:
- Scientific Linux 6.1
- OpenKM 5.1.8-2
- Fresh installation (unpacked, configured some paths to external programs, nothing more)

Testing:
- a textfile containing 3 words
- Works great in the online demo
- Seeing no errors in the JBoss server.log.

Have not yet found any errors...

I've tested in our online demo and goes perfect. Could you capture a screenshot of the search are you doing ?

Sure, see below. Just tested again, and the online demo indeed works good.
