Shared Hosting Install

Hi,

I did search the forum and check the wiki but didn't see anything on shared hosting so thought I'd ask. I was wondering if it was possible to setup open km on shared hosting? or would i need a server/vps as a starting point. I wanted to have it in a sub-domain of my site which is currently on shared-hosting. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

ON shared hosting normally will not be possible because this kind of hosting only supporting php and mysql. You need virtual or dedicated one, because you need java support, deploy jboss aplication server etc... for it you need more control on server side. Really make your question in other way ... what I need ?

You need:
Java support
Install jboss aplication server with OpenKM ( the openkm bundle )
Be able to run application on server ( execute jboss aplication server ... better if you configure as service )

I would recommend a couple of hostings:

- RimuHosting: Great quality and very professional.
- Hertzner: Cheap and good hardware.
