We know that OpenKM GUI allows us to export an entire folder with all files and sub-folders into a zip file. But this export feature does not export metadata for the files (data from attached property groups for each file).
Is there a way to export metadata using the GUI or using the web services?

Can someone provide pointers on how to export metadata for a given folder (all files in all sub-folders).
Thanks in advance.

I need this too, i\'m migrating from the 1.2 version to the 3.0 and i lose all my metadata (and permissions) when importing. is there a way to both import security and metadata for the files ?

There\'re two types of export.

Export to folder, simply exports documents, the idea is that you extract all documentation for any reason to operating system folders format. The idea about this type of exporting is that always you can extract all documents from OpenKM, on some DMS is quite difficult to do it, and when you want to migrate to other DMS is quite dificult, on OpenKM we don\'t want it for nobody and we\'ve tried you can extract all documents as an easy way ( and more complete with webservices, the metadata information always it\'ll be more complex to collect from other system, for this type of migration it\'s better webservices application for it purpose ).

Migration gets all information and exports repositorio version X to version X+1 with all contents, are diferent than export to OS. The idea here is increase repository OpenKM version. Mechanism to migrate repository is from operating system console, not using OpenKM UI.

If you desire to migrate all OpenKM repository to other DMS, etc... you can do it using Webservices, you can make a minimal program to navigate sequentially across all folders, get documents and metadata and export to other system ( that\'s a good way to integrate with thirdparty applications ).
