Hi All

Having spent the best part of three days and countless volumes of coffee trying to figure out how to get a basic Open KM working... it's time to request kindly, some help if possible.

I have Open KM 6.2.4 running on an Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit server - so far I've managed to install, and set up Tomcat - so I can see OKM in my browser fine, albeit I couldn't (yet) seem to get the startup script in the Wiki to run, so I'm manually starting it in /opt/tomcat-7.0.27/bin for now.

I have read, and re-read everything I can find about previsualisation, and have Openoffice 4 installed, and having worked through the Wiki again, I can upload documents fine. What is now happening are two things:

The Wiki says to prove Openoffice by downloading a doc as a PDF - this I can do, but it results in a corrupt PDF that Adobe cannot open. Tried with both Word and Excel docs.

Secondly, having seen almost every other error that flexpaper can produce (most of which seem to have been down to config issues and wrong paths which I've now sorted having found the "check" button) it is now simply saying in a big red box "The system has generated an error" and in the window it simply says "conversion:"

So, I think (it is only a think) that Openoffice is now working though I seem to recall that somewhere else it may have suggested Openoffice to be the issue with this kind of problem. I'm a bit stuck as to where to go from here really, and honestly, I'm not sure where to find some of the logs that might be required to identify the faults...

I really don't want the set up of this to beat me - and with a little help, I think I can have it do exactly what I need it to ....

Thanks in advance...

Seems we arrive late to answering. Only some considerations:
1- After change openoffice path always you should restart tomcat service ( and take a look in catalina.log at ends if has started correctly during startup openkm process ).
2- If you can convert .doc to pdf then soffice is right
3- Sometimes depending the pdf complexity default pdf2swf parameters can not be right. Consider download pdf, and execute pdf2swf from terminal. At end of this documentation page http://wiki.openkm.com/index.php/Third- ... :_SWFTools can found how to solve some typical vonersion problems changing default pdf2swf configuration
