Hi
After a succesfull installation of OpenKM 5.0.3 with the integrated database (everything works fine), i'm triing to make it run with mysql but, even following litterally the instruction of the wiki (configuring with copy and paste openkm-ds.xml, login-config.xml and repository.xml- just changing ID and password for the database created), when OpenKM start i get errors as it cannot make the connection with mysql.
Mysql it's running and with phpmyadmin i can connect with the dayabase created.
I started the work of integration with a fresh installation.
Which others modifications needs the cfg and xml files listed in the wiki (mysql integration chapter)?

Ubuntu desktop 10.10
OpenKM version: 5.03
mysql version: MySQL 5.1.49-1ubuntu8.1
/opt/jboss-4.2.3.GA/server/default/lib/mysql-connector-java-5.1.12-bin.jar (present in default installation)

Unfortunately i cannot manage javascript so i can base my edits only with copy & past or so :-(
Any help it's welcome!
Thanks

You've changed OpenKM.cfg to indicate you're working with Mysql ?

The error indicates can not connecting with database, can you login with that user ? create some table etc... ?
Code: Select all
com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException: Could not create connection to database server. Attempted reconnect 3 times.
Delete folder repository and start again jboss ( after made some changes ). In repository.xml you've added twice passwords no ? verify are well writen

HI
After a big headache (mysql talking with everything apart OpenKM!) i decided to restart from scratch (uninstalling and reinstalling mysql too) and now OpenKM works great and smoothly using mysql under ubuntu 10.10 on a quite old P4 3.0GHz machine.
Now, since this was a testing installation just to "taste" what can be a good DMS and OpenKM seems to be simple and powerful for my needs, i'm undecided if make it run definitely under Ubuntu or Windows (XP or 2003 server 64).
In which of these OS OpenKM give the best performances and it's easy to maintain?

Thank U for everything

OpenKM team develops under Ubuntu environment and for us the better OS where can be installed is on a Ubuntu server or Debian distribution. You'll get less problems doing backups etc... and any Linux has better I/O performance than windows. Sincerely if you can decide between Linux or windows, decide for Linux. About Linux distribution , is on your hand decide for some one. We work with Ubuntu and we're really happy with it ... easy to install packages etc...
