Hi

I am new to OpenKM but from what I have seen, it seems to be a great product.

I have a question. We have a system in our company where every document has to assigned a document ID. This is for traceability of the document. My question is does Open KM support Autogeneration of the document ID.

For example if "GS-PRD-001" is the first document the second document under type "PRD" will take a number 002. I hope you understand my question

Hoping to hear from you at the earliest

Thanks & Regards
Matthew

It can be done in two ways:
First you need to use metadata ( property groups ) to store that ID
Second you can generate the id using scripting or using automatic and simply workflow ( In theory in version 5.0 you can assign to each document a workflow by default when you uploading the file, take a look at profiles.

This behavior can be achived, but we should discuss some details in the implementations. And this forum is not the right place.
