Is it possible using the free version to crawl/index a remote file system, with LDAP authorization, and search for the documents that have been indexed?

I've been looking high and low for software that can do this, believe it or not...

Connecting to ldap is not a problem.
Crawling it's not good idea to a DMS because the idea is always consolidating a repository, it's better scenario thinking in some importation and sharing way.
