I would like to know the feeling of MS addins users, in order to make some enhancements to next version and if somebody has detected some malfunction. Any answer, suggestion, etc... it'll be appreciated.

Theory says 2003 adding might be compatible with 2007, you can try but I think it'll not run.

Hi,

I tried the new plugins with Oulook 2007 and Word 2007.
It worked fine with Outlook. Great job !

With Word, I uploaded new files without trouble.
I can also reopen documents (with the edit function) without trouble.
But I don't know how to save the edited file (in Word, the "save" button works, but I don't know what it does). So, in OpenKM, the edited document stays in "Check in" state.
Is there a way to chek it out directly from Word ?

PS: there is a "utilities.jar" download, but I dont know what to do with it.
Maybe that's why I fail to check out my document from Word ?

Utilities.jar are for migration etc.. purposes.

You've got 4 buttons:
1- add ( to add new documents no presents in openkm )
2- edit ( when you edit some document add and edit documents are disabled ) then you've got enabled checkin or cancel checkin ( that's upload new version )
3- checkin to upload new version
4- cancel checkin

if you close document while are editing ( check-out from openkm ) and other day open , addin might detect in and disables add and edit button and only enable checin and cancel.

hope it helps you

Hi,

I use Office 2007.
The interface is different than what we see in the Wiki. There is "only" one button in the toolbar, with a drop-down menu, which allows access to the 4 functions (add, edit , check-in and cancel).
But the problem is that in my version (word 2007 - french version), check-in and cancel menus stay always disable.
So I founded no way to reintegrate the edited document.

After you've checkout document ( edit ) has not changed the menus and has been enabled both options ?

And yes, are different to wiki screenshot because 2007 uses ribbon not buttons ( are not compatible ) and there's both implementations in addin.

Hi all. I'm happy to report that the Microsoft Addin works correctly for me in MS Office 2007. I've only tried it out with Word so far though in the last half hour since I downloaded it.

Here are some features I wish it had:
1. Document Explorer shows all my folders (such as Templates and My Documents) apart from only okm:root (and its sub-folders)
2. I can create folders and assign rights to folders/files

Those features would make it pretty much perfect, functionality-wise, for day-to-day operations.

Thanx to all the developers for the great work. I love the document change versioning system and, most importantly, the sheer speed of OpenKM.

Regards,
Ravind
