We are currently using OpenKM version 6.3.12 and are planning to upgrade to version 7.0.2.

Based on the migration documentation, we understand that the process involves exporting the repository from version 6.3.12 first and then importing it into the new 7.0.2 environment.

Our question is: How can we preserve the original permission settings for the files and directories during this import process into version 7.0.2?

Are there any specific upgrade documentations, guides, or best practices that provide instructions or guidelines regarding permission migration?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Right now, the simplest approach is to perform a full export (which exports the files along with their versions, metadata, and security settings) and then import it using the same option in version 7.

There is another mechanism that we have not yet had time to document, and it is considerably more complex (database migration combined with copying files from one file system to another). I would not recommend it unless you have a very large volume of data and the time required for the export and import process becomes an issue.

The previous method is slower in terms of execution time, but it is much easier to manage.
