Hello guys,

I've noticed that after editing the document via WebDAV, the new version of it is created correctly in OpenKM,
but the preview window continue to show the very first version of document. Is it by design? Or I'm doing something not right?
The checkin/checkout routine in that respect works as expected.

Thanks for your time,
Michael

It's simply to understand, it's a refreshing problem. Documents in OpenKM are edited by several users at same time, openkm give to you the last information it has, and each time you make and operation refreshing data, but only when you make and operation ( selecting folder on tree refresh data, or changing some document, etc... ) we've decided refresing on demand, not continuosly ( because we overload the network innecessary, if something is deprecated OpenKM it'll fires some error ( folder now not exist ,etc... ).

Understand that when you're editing from webdav, UI is not nofied in anyway about your modifications or other users.

Simply try to use refresh button on toolbar. Tell me if it solves the problem.

Hello,

Yes, that's what I did. And that's how the version of document got updated in OpenKM interface.
I even tried to restart jBoss, but Preview still showed older version.
However, after your reply I tried it again, and since I wasn't using it for a couple of days, this time
Preview showed the most recent version of document. That makes me think that maybe there is some
sort of cache, which got automatically updated after certain time?
So, I tried again to edit document in OpenOffice via WebDAV, again after "Refresh" version got updated, but still
Preview showed previous version. Then I stopped jBoss, removed everything from $JBOSS_HOME/cache/swf/
folder, started jBoss, and sure enough - in Preview saw the latest version of document.
Thus, since OpenKM is aware of new version of document (that how version got updated, right?),
maybe it make sense to delete relevant file from cache folder as a part of "updating document" routine?
Of course I don't know all details how OpenKM works under the hood, but just a thought.

Thanks,
Michael

Yes you're in truth, upssss

We make a cache of converted files - disk is cheap - because converting files consumes hardware and could try several seconds or minutes in bad cases. For it we try to convert only when is necessary and continue having the conversion file. I think you've found a bug, probably when we edit form webdav we're not contriling the converted file. I'll put this issue in our bug system.

Sorry for the inconvenience :(

Hey, that's fine! ;-)
Finding bugs - fixing bugs, means that software is getting even better, right?
Thanks for quick response.
