Preview not working

I am trying to get the preview working with a MS Word document and receive the following error in in version 6.3.0. I am using Open Office 3.4.

Can you convert word document to pdf ( there's a tool bar option )

I can convert a Word document, but not a text document.

Word document can be converted to pdf but text document can not ? is that ?

Is your text file smaller ? because we have observated problems with conversion txt to pdf on small sized txt files. Can you check if this is your case ?

The text document is 12 Bytes and the word document is 21.5KB, but this morning it is not converting the Word document either. It worked when I started this request and have made no changes to the configuration. The error I get when converting the Word document to PDF is "Conversion: error in application/msword to PDF conversion.

Can you take a look if you have a process named "soffice". Which is your OS ? and why are you using openoffice 3.4 and not 4.x ?

No. There is no process called soffice. I'm running it on Windows 7 for now. I'm using openoffice 3.4 because when I ran 4.x it had other errors when trying to convert and one of the other forums said they used 3.4 and it worked. It did work to convert Word documents at first, but it doesn't seem to now.

You can use openoffice 4.x. If you have openkm started and there's no process named soffice running, then you have a problem on openoffice configuration. Try to check it again http://wiki.openkm.com/index.php/Previsualization
