I see it is possible to setup POP / IMAP connections, but i have many years of emails organised in folders in my Evolution Client on Ubuntu. Is there any way i can import these existing folders or better still selected emails?

The only way for doing it is exporting all or only some mails to msg or eml format and then import into openkm.
any plans for an mbox import, as Evolution doesn't have an export to either of those
There's not in our roadmap, if you want to collaborate with us on it you're wellcome. Other solution is try to convert mbox to eml or msg ( I do not know if there's some free conversion tool utility ).
