Hello

Does the preview tab work in the community edition?
To best decide where the final OpenKm CE install will be, I have two installs: one in windows 8.1, one in linux ubuntu server 14.04. I have not been able to get the preview to work in either install. Windows throws an error and the Linux box indicates "starting conversation" which is a little more hopeful! Before getting into more troubleshooting I wanted to confirm the preview tab will work in the Community edition. I saw something in the wiki which may indicate it does not.

I also installed the enterprise trial on windows and was able to get the preview to work which also leads me to believe it might be a problem specific to CE.

thanks

Both, community and professional version allow you to preview document. To enable preview view take a look here http://wiki.openkm.com/index.php/Previsualization OpenKM need some thirdparty applications well done installed in your server and configured as OpenKM configuration parameters. The only difference could be professional trial is later version than community, and probably there we've included by default some apps what does not necessary install some applications ( for example for previewing pdf ), this changes have still not done in community release and will come with newer. But at least one app is necessary to be installed, Libreoffice or Openoffice.

Hello again,
well eureka, after almost 2 weeks of fiddling I have the Windows 8.1 OpenKM working with the preview tab.
The OpenKM install on ubuntu server 14.04 LTS is not working...pdf corrupt message (attached); also included the configuration test "ok's"
I am successful downloading a file to pdf, however when I try open it using Firefox an error is produced (attached). Flash plug-in says its installed....
also tried loading a pdf reader, didn't make a difference.

thanks
for the record, this must be a tough job trying to fix everyone else's configuration issues!

Please, try with the night build and clean the files from $TOMCAT_HOME/repository/cache/pdf

How are you using an EXE file on linux? (see your screenshot -> convert.exe)

As observate catscratch the file name should not ends with .exe on Linux. In Linux we suggest install ImageMagick and use convert from OS location.
