Hi,

We're running OpenKM community v 6.2.2 on Debian Squeeze, with Postgres as our db.

Our docment admin was rushed and created a folder in taxonomy with only a space for the name. The folder was then deleted..and it took a bunch of other stuff with it. When the folder is restored, you can't change the name becuase it replicates all the subfolders when you click on it. It may also be impossible to purge from the trash. As the same kind of replication occurs there too.

If I re-delete the folder and check the integrity of the repository, it checks out. Ditto if I want to export the repository. However, if the folder restored, the repository check fails at a given percentage and an export of the repository goes beyond 100%. (I stopped the process at 400% last time.)

Although we are lucky in that the person who originally uploaded the folder still has his copy of the documents there are still two things I want to resolve:
1. How can I fix the path so that the deleted folders can be restored.
2. If I can't restore stuff, how can I purge the deleted items without going into an infinite loop.

I suspect if we can fix either of these two things, we will be able to fix both.

Cheers,
L2

Concentrate first in purge from trash. Seems the folder parent is parent of himself -> that could explain the ethernal loop, can you confirm it ? and if parent and child have the same uuid.

Hi Jllort,
Purging worked. Sadly we hadn't started up the backup system. On the plus-side the contributor didn't delete their source files.

So, note to uses...do NOT create a directory with just a space...and be REALLY careful if you delete it.

I think I'm going to ask that my doc admin be a part of the OKM QA team....she seems to have quite the knack for breaking stuff.

Here's how you can make a folder disappear from taxonomy via categories. Steps to reproduce:

1. Create folder "Test" in Taxonomy.
2. Add category to folder.
3. Go to the category you just assigned.
4. From the toolbar select Edit --> Move and move the folder to a different category.
5. Go back to taxonomy and look for folder....gone.

If you check for the Folder Move option, you should see that the folder was moved from taxonomy to the category you selected.

6. In the folder's new category, try to move it to taxonomy. You can't. The context in the dialog box stays at "Categories"
7. Try searching for the folder by name. You will not find it. (Though you can see it in categories in Advanced Search)

***** Update ******
We figured out a work-around.
1. Find the folder in the new category.
2. Delete it.
3. Go to the trash, under your user name.
4. Refresh (if needed)
5. Restore folder to correct taxonomy location.
6. Profit!

Jllort, does this look like a bug to you, and if so, how should I go about logging it?

Thanks,
L2

I'm not sure understanding the problem. If you make some screenshot probably I will understand better, specially the first example.

The problem is when you have deleted a category can not be restored is it ? but you can not delete a category which will not be empty, the really has no relevance to restore is more easy simply create again. I do not see the problem.

Hi Jllort,

I've attached screenshots numbered in sequence. You DO have to go through these specific actions to recreate the bug, which makes it a corner case..Naturally, my doc admin found it. :)

Cool. I'll let the doc admin know she found a real bug. :) :D

I think both problems are now solved. Please, try the nigthbuild.
