I had my server go down from a hard drive failure and i am trying to get openkm up and working. It is on a ubuntu server but I have given up on that project for now and have am trying to get set it up on my laptop. I just need access to the files asap. I have openkm installed on my laptop and it is working but i can't get the repositories to come up in it. I have just put the files in the repository folder but that doesn't help and i try the import repository and it gives me an error. I don't know what version the server was running it is in a folder named JBoss4.2.3.GA. what could i do to fix this?

Do you have a backup ?
For what I understand your hard disk in server is broken and you got openkm installed on the laptop, is right ? you would like to migrate repository from server to laptop ?
When you try to start openkm from server which error do you got ?

I have a backup of the the repository. I is just the opt folder with the openkm install in it. the only error i get with the install on my laptop is when i try to import the repository. I have added a screen shot of the error that I get. On the server I can't access the openkm but it says it starts and then gives some other errors

Ok I got a back up to work on the server i had to start it with run.sh -b 0.0.0.0 and then the server server worked. I have a back up that i pulled from the hard drive while it was failing that i havn't tried yet can I copy the repository in to the folder of the working openkm and have it work. Also is there any way to just look at one file with out openkm installed?

Why not just put the whole /opt/openkm folder back to where it was on the old drive? If you installed all necessary 3rd-party software (like openoffice, imagemagick, ...) it should work as before.

[edit]ok, so you already did it. Congratulations ;-)

If you has been started openkm I suggest use export utility available at administrator. About what you're talking about seems you have executed openkm as root and then with other user ( never should be executed as root ).

And if you do not have backups that has been a good experience to understand that more important than have openkm running is have a good backup ( recover an application from crashed hardware is only a time problem, but recovering from air is a non human task ).
