Hi,
first of all thank you for great software.

I've got a small problem, probably due to the lack of understanding the difference between Taxonomy and My documents.

I can't add property group to a file stored in My documents, while I can do it with a file stored in Taxonomy.
So, is this a proper behavior? Is there another way to add metadata to private files?

Greetings,
Michal

Really it's a restriction I have done because I believe that nobody will use property in this scenario, really is not a security restriction etc... it's a conceptual one. From mypoint of view metadata are used in general scenario not in particular one, that's why I decided not be able in personal scenario.

We can discuss about it.

Hey I just discovered this too. What if you use the "My Documents" area as a staging before placing the document into the "taxonomy" area. It would be nice to assign property groups in "My Documents" before moving to "taxonomy".

I too am new to this, so maybe this is a concept that is better done another way.

Really could be assigned metadata in this view too we have not assigned because we thinking that users will not use metadata for himself, there's no other reason. Really can be easilly added in this view.

About upload in my document to move to taxonomy, why you do not move directly there ? It's extrange scenario and I would like understanding better.

The concept is very much like trying new OpenKM configurations out on a test environment first; before you apply to the live environment. A users "My Documents" folder is not seen by anyone else (normally). A user can stage and test the document information out in their own area, then when happy with the content, move it to the "taxonomy" area for others to use. Once the document is in the "taxonomy" area, then you would use the normal "check-out/check-in" process for any updates required.
