I just started looking at OpenKM

On the forum a question by jllort 2008/10/19:
Re:How to added a user?
Take a look at FAQ (http://www.openkm.com/FAQ.html) web site section it\'s explained how to add new users. On OpenKM 3.0 it\'s present on the new web administration ( we\'ll release probably this week ).

However in the FAQ section is the question:
How can I manage users?
OpenKM defaults use text-based user management. These files are located at $JBOSS/server/default/conf/props, so you need to edit openkm-users.conf, openkm-roles.conf and openkm-emails.conf to add or remove a user from the system.

I just downloaded OpenKM-3.0_JBoss-4.2.2.GA and since I don\'t see the files mentioned in the FAQ, so the situation is like mentioned the forum note and users are controlled via the new web administration?

So when are the FAQ\'s going to be updated?
Are the documents under the OpenKM homepage under Support/Documents also out of date?

On another topic.
We are a small company just getting started, can we use the community version of OpenKM or do we have to get the enterprise version?

P.S. The time out for typing questions on this forum is way too short

Since openkm 3.0 the user administration is under web administration, you only must login as user:admin pwd:admin to see administration ( FAQ user/roles property files is deprected and I\'ll change to don\'t generate confusions ).

We\'re actually changind general openkm web site documentation and we\'ve not finished, sorry for it.

As a company or individual user, you can use without any problems community version, you\'re in legal, that\'s one of the some advantages of the open source community.

hi,

i have OpenKM 2 running in my company. i have just downloaded OpenKM 3 and i love the changes you have made.

however since you have finaly chosen to incorperate the user management into the web interface i was wondering how/if i can import/use the user config file i have already created (+- 30 users).

also is it possible to back up the user i make in openKM 3. i hate to think i would have to manualy type in all the users if something bad should happen!

anyway great product keep up the good work

We\'ll as you\'re thinking there\'s no automated import for it.

You could try to connect to hypersonic database at server/default/data/hypersonic and insert directly to database. But for 30 users I don\'t recomend it.

If you want to acces directly to hypersonic database try:
1- From your local machime navigate to http://localhost:8080/jmx-console/
2- Click the link \"database=OKMAuth,service=Hypersonic\"
3- Find \"void startDatabaseManager())\" and click the \"invoke\" button

Sorry for it.

I\'ve just downloaded OpenKM 3.0. After connecting using admin user, i can\'t add users. Nothing is visible in the Administration part.
Any idea ?
Thanks

Yes you\'re using Internet explorer. For some reason I don\'t still understand why some Internet explorer versions not run propertly and hides administration tab content. Meanwhile we continue investigating it ( I think is a IE bug or enhancement how microsoft usually calls ), I suggest you use firefox for administration purposes.

I\'ve tested with IE 6 on linux and on Windows and on my pc runs well, I\'ve see that some of us have and upper version than I, could you tell me your version ( exact numbers ).
