As I am uploading a number of specs which are already at a specific version, for example 0.4, 1.7 etc., it it possible to override the default version numbering for a doc which the system provides when you create it? It is fine for it to increment from that point onwards for future edits.

I would like understanding better, for what are you saying you've got a document version 1.7 that's not yet uploaded to openkm and would like to mantaining that numeric after uploading openkm, is that ?

Actually you can't force a document version number due to limitations in JSR-170 specification.

The only way you can doing now, could be making some minimal extension for doing it, and take external control document number version. That can be done, it's not much complicated but needs some time for doing it.
