I've added the following to OpenKM.cfg

logo.text=Enter username and password for access

Restarted everything but the text does not change on the login screen.

Where have I gone wrong?

I had tried to customize my login screen too, but with the OpenKM.cfg this don't work.
You need to edit the login.jsp file manually, you can use HTML and CSS, and insert your company logo!
If you need help i can help you.

Wow! I was amazed at how easy is to edit a WAR file on Ubuntu Desktop.

I have a local copy the ZIP archive and simply extracted that and then did a double click on the OpenKM.WAR found the file and double clicked that, saved and the archive manager asked if I want to update the archive. Simple. All that was left was to scp the WAR up to the server.

Now my only concern with doing changes in this way is that they are contained inside the WAR and when time comes to upgrade will be overwriiten if OpenKM.war is updated which is highly likely.

So how do you go about avoiding having made such customisations and not clobbering them on upgrades?

If you only want to replace logos, then simply open OpenKM.war ( for example with winrar ) and into img folder there're images that you want to replace.

Yes, but if you are on Ubuntu you will find that there is no need to extract the WAR file. The archive manager just opens it and you have th efile system and can add, delete or modify whatever you like.

You're on truth.

On version 5.1 all the configuration parameters, except DBMS are on administration and almost can be changed on fly, including logos.
