Hi,

I'm having difficulty of using openkm to do searching with Chinese characters. The search button is disabled if first character is in unicode. Is there a way to "enable" it?

Thanks!

OpenKM is build in UTF-8 compliance and compatible with chinese character ( we got some chinese customers so is well tested ). The problem you got can be solved changing some configuration parameter. go to Administration -> Configuration and change min.search.characters from 3 to 0.

Test document attached. i'm able to search "健康業務" in the document preview but not from the search tab, neither able in OpenKM demo. Both returned nothing.

I am a Chinese user and we have also built OpenKM. Word and excel files in Chinese are searchable, our Chinese PDFs are also searchable.
I tested the pdf file you have provided on our system, I can't search it either. Maybe text extracter is not capable of extracting the text from your pdf file.

It properly has nothing to do with Chinese/Unicode. May be OKM search function not supports text behind picture. Attached is purely english only PDF and still can't find text inside.

I think the problem is with lucene configuration. Could be something about indexer, take a look here : http://wiki.openkm.com/index.php/Indexing_configuration I think you should change the analyzer. I remember for some chinese user we had changed the lucene analyzer to solve search engine problems.

As mentioned is the post above, it has nothing to do with Chinese characters. Should I start a new post to prevent confusion?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Please, open a new post and attach a sample document. Can you reproduce the problem in the online demo?
