Dear All,

Platform: ubuntu 10.04 LTS (64bits)
Office: Libreoffice 3.4

I got some problems in previewing some word document in chinese.
Some of the chinese can be displayed probably but some of them displayed as "box"
openkm preview, chinese with box
openkm preview, chinese with box

I have tried to open that document in libreoffice manually and all the chinese can be displayed, also tried to export as PDF and all the chinese show well.
view in libreoffice, all chinese can be displayed properly
view in libreoffice, all chinese can be displayed properly

However, through the preview in OpenKM, the pdf file output will display some font as "box". Is there some setting missed in openoffice? I have installed chinese fonts in the system.

Can anyone advice how to fix this issue?

I think it maybe the environment issue when running libreoffice in daemon mode which make some fonts cannot be exported to PDF correctly.

Thanks,
Halu

Try first converting document to pdf to ensure problem is on office conversion or is on pdf2swf, I suggest use terminal for this second test.

Thanks for the reply,

I have tried to manually open the doc with libreoffice in the server and export as PDF. The result is correct.
However, through the openKM preview which using the same libreoffice but running daemon mode, the PDF file generated in cache/pdf is incorrect.

So, i think there maybe some different in running libreoffice in normal mode and daemon mode. Maybe the environment variable or something else.

It seems like there are missing fonts in the OpenKM server and can generate the preview properly. The preview process follow these steps:

- Convert document to PDF
- Convert PDF to SWF
- Show SWF to user

In some point, the conversion have a problem with the fonts.
