File name vs document name

Have you ever considered that it would be nice that the file name should be different as the document name?

We have a lot of "not so smart" users that don't know what a file extension is (and they shouldn't). They can now easily brake things renaming the documents like "Invoice No.161" (and not "invoice_161.pdf"). But they are right - the document names have to be nice readable and understandable.

Also there are often trouble with utf-8 characters in file names, but that should not be a reason to categorize and rename my documents in my DMS system using them.

About utf-8 problems, explain us what happens. Can you reproduce the problem in our online demo ?

If I am not wrong, in OpenKM 6 you can specify document description. Are you sure that a document name would be good? By default would be the same as the document name, but without the extension?
