Can not Start OpenOffice

My OS is windows 2003 server, and openKM v5, Open Office 3.2. After starting openkm, PDF and IMAGE preview is ok, but doc and txt preview fail. Checking the log, there's a message like:

15:10:34,203 WARN [DocConverter] system.openoffice not configured

My configure file list as following:
Code: Select all
# Default configuration values
#
# repository.config=repository.xml
# repository.home=repository
# system.user=system
# default.user.role=UserRol
# default.admin.role=AdminRol
# principal.adapter=com.openkm.core.UsersRolesPrincipalAdapter
# max.file.size=5
# max.search.results=25
# system.demo=off
hibernate.dialect=org.hibernate.dialect.HSQLDialect
hibernate.hbm2ddl=none
system.openoffice=C:\\Program Files\\OpenOffice.org 3
system.img2pdf=C:\\Program Files\\ImageMagick-6.6.6-Q16\\convert.exe
system.pdf2swf=C:\\Program Files\\SWFTools\\pdf2swf.exe
file.size=100
repository.home=c:\\files
On the openkm client, it shows following when preview a doc file:

Preview unavailable

Can someone tell me where's the problem.

Thanks & Best Regards,

About which OpenKM version are we talking ?
After changing OpenKM.cfg have you restarted your server ?

My OpenKM version is OpenKM-5.0_JBoss-4.2.3.GA.zip. Download from

http://sourceforge.net/projects/openkm/ ... p/download

I've restart the application server times to test even the setting for old version, but all failed at the end.

Thanks & Best Regards,

We might see the server log at stating.
Ensure all soffice are stopped on task explorer, if soffice is started for some reason the service can not be started correctly.

I see everything right on cfg file

I'm sure the openoffice is not start in any way through task manager and netstat.

Attached, please find the server.log, seems can not read the setting of system.openoffice in cfg file.

Issue sovled.

Change the setting as following:

old: not work
system.openoffice=c:\\program files\\openoffice.org 3\\

new: workable
system.openoffice.path=c:\\program files\\openoffice.org 3\\
system.openoffice.port=8100

You are right, this was a late time feature migrated from develop branch to 5.0 and was not well documented. I've updated the wiki.

post some extra information hank72 if you want we try helping you, for example: Your OS server, which version of openoffice have you installed, the OpenKM.cfg params you've configured, and information about server.log, if happens some error when try previewing.

first do you can convert to pdf some document ( that option is available from toolbar button on the left ?
second have you installed and configured in openkm.cfg the swftools package ?

As i said, i'm a compleet novice at this, sorry.

I'm working with Windows Vista 6 (Home premium service pack 2) with jboss-4.2.3.GA installed. Version of OpenOffice is 3.2.0 (dutch).

However i did not instale swftools package yet, so i will try to do that first.

Installed swftools, works fine now, thanks
