How do I disable downloads...

Great tool, thanks for the excellent work. Just getting started with OpenKM and having a lot of fun.
I need to create a very restricted user/profile. I want to only allow document viewing via the preview feature and disable the ability to download the document. I also need to disable the copy text and print functions in preview.
The goal is to allow certain users to read documents only via the preview and not allow anything else.

I created a profile with almost everything turned off so there is no download menu option but the user can still double click the document and download it.

Can anyone help me with how to do this?

Thanks in advance,
Jim

You've detected a UI bug, if user has no download toolbar option might not have enabled double click. I'll add in our tracking system and solve to next release.

About previewer I think flextable previewer can disable copy / paste document, but I think with zviewer you can not doing it. althought I might done some code changes to take effect in flextable ( must put some extra variables now not used ).

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have an approximate idea when the release fixing the UI issue will be issued?

Also I am not sure what you mean about the previewer issue. Are flextable previewer and zviewer 2 different options for use in OpenKM?

Do you think there is a solution I can try to disable the copy text and print buttons in previewer?

Thanks again,

Jim

Now you can not disable copy from preview. I'll make some enhancement in UI with flexpaper previewer. I've added in our roadmap.

To enable flextable previewer must be configured in OpenKM.cfg
Code: Select all
system.previewer=flexpaper
