Read only files

Hello list,
I am new to OpenKM. I really like what I see. I have imported from zip a couple of directories into the taxonomy area. These are open office/ms word documents. I set the security on both directories to allow my login to read write recursively. I highlight a document within directory 1, and click the WebDAV "Copy to Clipboard" button. I then use open office File -> Open and paste the file path into the filename field, the file opens and I can edit and save the file. Works like a charm.
Now when I do the same in directory 2, I open the file, but it will not allow me to edit anything. I get the message that the file is "read only".

I have double checked the security settings on both directories. I imported both directories as the same user. What could be the problem?

This is the feature that I need the most. The ability to read and write to files based on the user login.

Thanks,
Dave

Bump.
I do not understand why I can import a zip file containing openoffice .odt text documents, open them in open office writer, edit and save them. Then import another zip file of openoffice .odt text documents, open them, but not be able to edit and save them.

Both zip files are coming off of the same server. All source documents and directories have the same perms prior to zipping the directory. I use this command at the linux command line: # zip -r my myDirectory and then # zip -r my2 myDirectory2

Before I can seriously use this software, I need to know that security within openkm's taxonomy works properly. I have to think it does not at this point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am running openKM v4. Does openKM v5 work better? If so, how I can download and test?

Thanks,
Dave

Well we'd like to reproduce the problem.

Could you provide us the two zip files, and indicate the exact pases to reproduce it. Or in other hand try simulating in demo.openkm.com, because althought you explain it we need to reproduce it to take some conclusion about what could happens.

Hi forum,
I was not able to send any zip file nor could I upload them to the demo server because these directories contain confidential files. In my research, I found out that the user responsible for updating the files (which happen to be openoffice docs and spreadsheets) was directed to password protect the files. No wonder I could not open them except in read only mode. :D

Thanks for your time.

Dave

Probably openkm has fired some error, because can not extracting content to indexing purposes. Confirm me if this problem happens only with zip on happens too uploading a single file ( I think could be a problem in zip logic ) not in single uploading.
