Take a look at workflow guide in
wiki
Workflow is created by adminitrator, and registered in OpenKM.
Users can assign a workflow to document in tool bar.
If you want testing better workflow supportin please contact with us ( using web contact form ) and I'll give to you some url to downloading OpenKM 5.0 beta that has better workflow supporting.

Some wiki pages are restricted to OpenKM Network users. This only cost 30€ per year, or can be free if you make any project contribution like implement some interesting feature, become a beta-tester or maintaining a translation).

That's not the idea wqb
First, maintaining documentation is so hard as typewriting code, some times more ...
Second, general documentation what 90% of users needs is not in OpenKM Network.
We demand only two things, or pay 30€ for full access documentation or collaborate with us, in this way we're so open as you are ... for example you want access to OpenKM to take a look full workflow examples, no problem, but why you collaborate with us sharing the workflow examples or implementation you do ? that could be a good way to collaborate with us, or simply testing OpenKM 5.0.
We think people who helps us, must have some extra than others and some expertice we collect in our installations and configuration is shared to this users, that's the idea, you expend some hours with us, we'll expend some extra with you.

Does one NEED Eclipse in order to create workflow? I've written an xml process definition by hand (Not sure I really see the reason I would need the jBPM Tools if I can write xml easily) and tried to upload it, but all I get is "OKM-023001" being displayed.
I'm not sure what to do next.

It's better installing eclipse and tools in order to make workflow.
In your server log which error appears ?

Well, I installed Eclipse, but now it won't allow me to install the jPDL Tools plugin. I receive the following error:

I am using Eclipse Ganymede 3.4.2 and trying to get jTools 3.0, which should be compatible. This is frustrating.

Hey, yay, I got jTools installed, after downloading no fewer than 3 versions of Eclipse.
And, hilariously, now I cannot get it to run.
When I go to New > Other > jBoss jBPM > Process Definition, I cannot choose a source folder because "no entries are available. Source folder not available."
Any ideas?

About processdefinition.xml mut be present into de .par file. You must create a XXX.par file ( that contains some classes and files )
Could you give some screenshot about problem ? and which eclipse and jbosstool versiol are using.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner. I have been very busy with other projects. Anyway, here are a couple of screenshots when I try to do a Process Definition.
And then after I click Browse:
I am using the latest Eclipse Galileo and latest jBoss Tools.
I don't think I understand your first statement. How do I create a .par file? What even is a .par? I don't remember reading anything about that in the wiki.
