Is openKM like documentum(emc)?

hi,
boss.As I know,openKM can do many things just like documentum of emc, store documents,version control...etc. So,can I replace dccumentum with OpenKM in a small project which need a content managment product?

OpenKM is a document management software, documentum is more powerfull than OpenKM really probably the most complete document management system exists actually, and so expensive too.
You can replace or use OpenKM to store document, versioning, communicating between users, etc...
There\'s some difference betweems ecm and dms, ecm publish on some web content managers, really dms don\'t does it directly ( also you can do via web services ), that\'s the major conceptual diference between ecm and dms ( I think, guru\'s problably says you\'re not on thruth ).

hehe, boss ,as you say, the key problem is the price of emc\'s documentum.

Other problem is the hardware needed to starting up. It\'s a world champion consuming resources, from my point of view software must use resources that need not uses the excuses that hardware is more cheapest.
But is the best dms that exists actually. Althought it I think others like us ( and other open source, forum is not the place to do marketing ) can covers majors user needs and hope in several years we could compare with this.
