Problem with Internet Explorer 6

I have a problem in Internet Explorer version 6.0.2900.2180 in WinXP/Pro SP2
When I select a folder in the Taxonomy pane, it shows the available subfolders. When I select now a subfolder, I get a message window in the right lower pane under the \"Properties\" tab, saying : \"Updating security roles\". I have no problem with that, except that it stays there forever and you can\'t do anything anymore. The only thing you can do to \"unfreeze\" IE, is to hit the refresh button.
So this makes OpenKM in IE virtually useless...
I also notice a message in the status bar of IE saying:
(1 item remaining) Downloading picture loaded_disabled.gif at <our_server> ...
Can you take a look at this please ?
Greetings
