Anyone found a good calendar synchronization tool for keeping work and personal calendars in sync?

Hi everyone
I’m working in an environment where calendars are multiplying way too fast. Personal stuff is on Google Calendar, IT forces us onto Outlook for work, and some people still use other platforms on top of that. The result is pretty messy: overlapping meetings, “free” time slots that actually aren’t free, and scheduling that feels more like guesswork than planning. I’ve been looking for a proper calendar synchronization tool with real two-way sync, not just a static export you have to refresh manually every couple of weeks. Ideally, when a slot gets blocked on one calendar, it automatically updates the others without any extra steps. I’d also need something that handles conflicts decently, respects privacy settings, and doesn’t take half a day to configure.
I’ve checked out Zapier, SyncThemCalendars, and some of the built-in Google/Outlook integrations, but the feedback online seems all over the place. Some people mention endless duplicate events, others say the sync delay makes it useless for anything close to real time.
From a knowledge management point of view, it actually becomes a bigger issue than just calendar comfort. If calendars aren’t reliable, project coordination gets sloppy pretty quickly, and shared planning loses consistency.
What are you all using these days? Free or paid, cloud-based or self-hosted, I’m open to anything. Mainly curious whether anyone has found a setup where the two-way sync genuinely works without needing constant babysitting.
