Turn off Drag and Drop

While the new OpenKM 7.0 CE looks amazing we have identified an issue with the Drag and Drop, for the way we use OpenKM (letting it handle versioning) we really need to make it as foolproof as possible for updating/checking revised documents. I.e. we need to ensure that users actually update files they have checked out rather than accidentaly uploading new versions with different filenames so they appear as a totally different file.
So is there a way of turning off the drag and drop and goinh back to the 'edit' -> 'Update / find the file and upload' procedure that worked so well in 6.3?

This functionality cannot be disabled; in fact, drag and drop also existed in the previous version, and I believe it was not possible to disable it either.

There is no built-in option in OpenKM 7.0 CE to totally deactivate drag-and-drop while maintaining the previous 6.3 update method. The recommended technique is to utilize the Update Version action on an existing document, however users can avoid this by dragging files into folders.

Does not exist, and it is not planned. The only way to upload a file is with drag and drop.
This does not change the underlying behavior of the update process. For a user to be able to update a document, two conditions must be met:
The user must have previously checked out (locked) the document for editing.
The document must not already be checked out by another user.
This works exactly the same way as in the previous version. The only difference is that, instead of opening a form to upload a file, the update is now performed using drag and drop, with all the advantages that this brings.
For example, if a user has edited two or more files, they can now update all of them at once by simply dragging and dropping them, instead of having to go through the tedious process of completing multiple upload forms.

I had the same issue.
We've already had a few cases where users accidentally uploaded a revised document as a new file instead of updating the checked-out version. Drag & drop is convenient, but it also makes this kind of mistake much easier.
An option to disable drag & drop, or at least make it configurable, would be really useful for organizations that depend on strict version control.
