Moving OpenKM to another OS

We will probably need to move our DMS to another server running Windows. The current server is running Linux.

Seeing as virtually the same files are used for Linux as for Windows (except of course the .bin & .bat files respectively)** Should we expect any problems if we just copy the whole OpenKM directory across to another server running another OS?

I don\'t think so, but I thought I should ask first.

**I\'m pretty impressed with this. I have seen so many applications written in Java, that are supposed to be OS independent, but aren\'t They have needed wrappers, different compiling and so on.

We\'ve not tested it.

You might not have problems, because the same OpenKM sourceforge file is valid for linux and windows. But after installed and running, one problem could be jackrabbit files on your hard disk. It must be tested to be sure.

Note than changing to windows you\'ll lose hard disk performance ( at same machine configuration ).

If you\'ll try tell us how it has gone. Probably linux to windows runs better than windows to linux.

OK, thanks. I will report back to this thread as and when we move it.
