IE issue with "Updating security roles"

Dear Support/Admins,
I\'m testing OpenKM, because our department is planning to use it. The staff in our company mostly uses Internet Explorer (version 7). It would be crucial, to eliminate the issues from IE.
Among the several IE related bugs (which, I know, related to MS) there is one, which is really serious, and makes OpenKM unusable: during browsing the folders in the repository, three loading status animation is shown (folder tree, folder list and security roles). Sometimes (really unpredictable). The \"Updating security roles\" message remains visible/active and prevent the user from the further works (all mouse actions are disabled). The whole page has to be reloaded to continue the work.
I was looking for similar questions in the forum, but I found only unanswered questions about this issue.
Could you please investigate this issue?
Thanks,
Mark

If I understand, when you\'re updating secutiry roles, the updating message not hides ? that\'s correct ?
Well, we\'ll need two things:
1- Screenshot
2- Server.log when you\'re doing it operation ( as clean as posible, please delete server.log, starting jboss, login, make this operation and close jboss -> that\'s a useful log, not entire one please ).
I think could be a internal problem with security, not UI, IE7 defect, but we need log to be sure.

No, you didn\'t understand well. The problem happens if I simply browse the folder tree on the left panel. I think the property (and security) panel updates (reads from the server) to the newly selected folder\'s data, but the request isn\'t carried out.
It never happens with FF3 e.g.
I\'ve also tried your online demo, but it works fine.

I\'ve successfully regenerated the error on your Demo page, too.
Could you please investigate this issue as soon as possible?
Regards.

Sorry but only Enterprise users have preferred support.

In fact that the error also occurs on the Demo Page (using Enterprise edition), and OpenKM is praised on the Homepage (
http://www.openkm.com/Features.html) to work with IE ( \"Works with most popular browsers: Firefox 1.5 or above, IExplorer 5.5 or above, Opera and Safari\") we want to know if it really works with IE, before we think about buying an Enterprise licence that maybe won\'t work properly in our environment.
Thanks in advance

Can you give me some guide to generate the error.
Some sequential passes done to reproduce.

I\'ve made a video which demonstrates how to generate the error. As I mentioned before only browsing is enough.

It\'s on batch, I\'ve not found time to take a look it, don\'t worry I\'ll see it.
From my point of view I think it could be some network problem, IE with ajax is more vulnerable when internet connetivity is lower.
Next week I\'ll been seeing it and I could try to say something about it.
Excuses ribizli , but I\'m involved in a project moving to production environment and is consuming all my avaliable time. :(

I\'ve been testing openkm demo stressing with Ie 7 with windows Vista. On default IE on this computer after trying to hang during 10 minutes was not possible. I upgraded to last IE 7 version and with this I can hang, but I need really to stressing so much to get it.
I think problems is not really on OpenKM I think problem is losing connection on IE7.
I\'ll try to explain:
- IE has a bad javascript engine.
- First time loading OpenKM on IE ( with no caching sources on local computer ) is really bad.
- IE7 consumes high CPU and resources need great hardware to works really fine.
Adding this characteristics I think OpenKM send finishing RPC ( remote procedure call ) to client, but IE ignores it ( loses remote petition ), why ? could be several causes, if your IE runs lower could not detect it and loses. I think it\'s what happens.
On UI log and server log there\'s no error. The only explaination is IE loses the RPC from OPenKM.
Seems the last IE7 upgrade has been something wrong ... it\'s a classic on IE family.
How you can understand, we\'re really tired with IE browsers family. Because their bugs are forwaded to us.

Hi!
After our staff decided to use FF instead of IE, a similar issue came back in a different form.
If a document is referenced in the URL (
http://localhost:8080/OpenKM/es.git.ope ... Ftest1.doc), OpenKM gets into an \'
Updating property group\' loading state which never ends (loading of the page never finishes).
The key of the issue is, that there must
be a property group attached to the document. If I delete the property group from the document, the referencing with URL works fine (page loads well).
I\'ve successfully reproduced the error on a clean OpenKM install, too.
Maybe this issue helps to reveal the \'Updating security roles\' issue in IE too.
Regards.

I am having a similar issue with the message \"Updating Security Roles\". When we get this message your only choice is to close the browser and close your self out.
When you try to re-login you can\'t because the 30 minute lockout is in effect.
I have 2 questions:
1. What causes that behavior (see picture). Also is there anything we can do when it happens so we don\'t have to close the browser and get locked out?
2. Can the 30 minute timeout be changed to a shorter time like 5 minutes or 1 minute?
Thanks
