Open Source Document Management System | OpenKM

Hello,

I am using OpenKm for last 9 months. After 1 month application starting working very slowly...And now its not responding or sometimes takes more then 15 minutes to respond. Currently we have uploaded almost 6000+ documents in different folders date wise and uploading regularly.

From 5 months its started working extremely slow, sometimes its taking more then 15 minutes to open the folder.

From last few days OpenKm application loading after completing the user authentication process and then completely stop working. Browser showing "Kill Page" msg and it stop working. In the Java console its showing :Undefined OCR Application.

Kindly guide me how to make the application working speedy and error free.

Are you using huge keywords tagging ?

YEs we are using keywords. almost 3000 keywords used till now.

Not a good idea I encourage move keywords to metadata field. I think you are using wrong use of keywords, we suggest use keywords only for small companies and in scenarios where you have small number. Have sense a tag cloud with 3K keyword, I think not much ... the issue I think you have is that when loading the application is loading keywords list and create tag cloud, that is overloading browser and gets stalled for some seconds or minutes while loading process.

Move keywords to metadata fields ( I suggest input https://docs.openkm.com/kcenter/view/ok ... field.html or text area for it https://docs.openkm.com/kcenter/view/ok ... field.html ). Really with metadata you will have the same feature you have from keywords, but with best perfomance and without drawing the tag cloud etc... Alway we encourage using metadata rather using keywords or categories, with metadata you can cover these feature and much.

If you are not able to create an script from moving automatically you have another option, export all data into OKM_NODE_KEYWORD table. Then delete everything into and step by step set metadata value in the place you had keyword.

The value into the NKW_NODE field is the UUID of the document. You can access it from the application with the url http://your_server:8080/OpenKM/frontend/index.jsp?uuid=XXXXXXX ( whete the XXX are the values ) or at the top right corner into the quick search set the XXXXXX ( uuid value ) and execute the search, this probably is the fast way to find the document.
