Super Important Features

Hi All,

My two cents worth for this promising opensource program:

1. Rentention Schedule / Retention Period Property on file: Even though files are digital, they still need to be culled occasionally. This feature would allow a user to say keep a file for 7 years. After that period, and admin could review and delete if necessary.

2. Offline / Paper Documents: The reality is that every organisation still has paper documents kept in archive boxes. OpenKM should allow these to be described and located (ie. \"Finance 2006 - Cheques\" -> Archive Box 23, Warehouse 1)

My two cents....

First thanks for your suggestions:

1- About retention schedule, we\'ve been thinking something on that way, not on deleting direction but it could be other complementary interesting enhancement to history storage repository concept.

We think on real environment, there\'re actual files and historical ones that are accesses few times during year, for it purpose we\'ve been thinking to create a extra repository - historical - to save that kind of document. The mision of it, is to get a better performance on day by day files ( OpenKM main repository ) and the extra repository gets the function to storage history. On that repository as you suggest could be interesting to be set the date deletion flag.

2- About offline / papper documents -> yes you\'re on truth, not all documents are really on DMS. You\'re thinking on some way to set document reference on repository. We must study it because is needed a new object type and logical to set it.

About open future releases, we\'re on direction to create the history repository, we\'ve still not yet finished the next openkm roadmap, but consider it has a high priority for us.

I think you can implement these features creating Property Groups.
