OpenKM has many interesting features, but requires some configuration process to show its full potential.

Yes you can hide unwanted options from Administration->Profiles. You have to uncheck options that are not required and assign that profile to your users. You can also create and set different profiles for different users. To assign profiles to users the go to Administrator-> Users and click on 'config' icon and select profile for the user.
