Open Source Document Management System | OpenKM

Hi,
I am absolutely brand new to the world of DMS's and especially to OpenKM. I have managed to install it on our file server however am facing some strange issues.

1. I cannot update a file, the option is greyed out.
2. Whenever I download a microsoft word or excel file, the file doesn't open. Even when i convert it into pdf.
3. Where do I enter all those commands given in the configuration manual to configure OpenKM?
4. From what I have read so far, OpenKM does not use the files, folders already placed in the file server but in fact we have to import the files and folders into OpenKM's repository. Doesn't that sort of result in duplication? Also, once the entire file storage has been moved into the DMS, its updated within the DMS or does it update the actual file placed on the old file server?

Sorry for the questions but need your help urgently. Most grateful.

1- Any files upload to openkm is stored into OpenKM datastore ( normally files system, can switch to database but we do not suggest it ) at $tomcat/repository/datastore ( in a non human format )
2- About grey option to upload file, that's should be caused because you do not have enought privileges on that folder ( do some screenshot and we'll help up understand better what happens ).
3- Live edit is only available on profesional version, on community you download files locally and then edit and upload again.
