How future-proof is OpenKM? And who is developing it?

I'm wondering:

1. Will OpenKM Community version automatically work with future versions of Windows also?
I guess since it's written in Java, it will require no work from anyone to make OpeNKM Community usable by future versions of Windows also, or?

2. Is anybody actively developing the Community version of OpenKM?

Thanks!

Best,
Henrik

At the present since we started with first OpenKM realease we've got not any problem getting openkm running in Windows. With latest 2012 server version we've not found any issue or problem to configure there. For our experience I think should not be any problem on it. and if there's something take in mind our technology based on java is used to huge people, we'll not be alone here.

About community version I will try to explain how we're working. Us we take professional version - one time per year - and we share as community, This is the major release that we will do next March. It does not have all features but is always released from stable professional version. During the year we include community developers improvements and patched versions. For example in community actually you got 5 releases of version 6.2 but in professional we're working on 27 releases, about 1-2 in a month. As you can imagine is quite diffictult working in two branches, for it our decision was easy, we concentrate all year in professional, we share one time per year one community release from profeesional version and then we patch both ( professional more intensive than community ). In sourceforge svn you'll see high activity during yearly relase and some patches during year. What you can not see is our daily internal SVN. Hope this help you.
