Hi,
I get this error when scanning more then 10 pages(approx.). I tryed setting something like
JAVA_OPTS=\"-Xms256m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m\" in setenv.sh and I see that it extends memory but error is still there.
Any suggestions?

When I change scanning options (lower it to 150 dpi bw) it can scann over 30 pages. But this probably isn't even close to solution...

I increased Java Heap on client to 1024MB. Now I can scann about 20 pages. Problem is that scanned file size is 12 mb(for 20 pages), and RAM allocated by Java after scanning (while transfering scanned file to repository)is about 1GB.
After adding the file to repository, Java doesn't free its memory (it is still 1GB) taken

Start from the begging, you're using applet for scanning and you get error. Well it's environment configuration from computer executing that can not be solved changing setenv.sh server parameteres.
I suggest connect openkm with webdav mounting openkm as unit disk, take a look here
