Automatically extract meta data from filenames on import

I'm trying to set up OpenKM to import documents that i have already scanned and saved to a folder on my PC...... all of the documents have been named like this......: doe,john_xxx-xxx-xxx.pdf the x are customer numbers..... Is there any way to upload or import into OpenKm these files and automatically pull the name and the customer# to be used as meta data and be able to search the repository using that info?
