Thanks, I installed under Suse11.1, and the required commands were straight forwards, once I realized the problem or rather the solution to the problem. Such as chown wwwrun:www -R for the /java as well as for the /jboss, plus a chmod +x -R for the /jboss. I admit the chmod for the /jboss may be overkill but there were several *.sh & *.bat and I didn't want to set them manually each. The problem was the openkm-jboss.zip which doesn't contain the rights. As to the jdk or jre, I'll try again after this test installation is considered usefull by the users.
From wherever I had the impression, I expected the user interface to accept drag and dropped files. But somehow the user interface in the browser is not able to accept drag and dropped files. Instead the browser tries to open or rather save the dragged pdf.

Your case it's really strange. When I uncompress the zip file in my Ubuntu ( debian ), sh files has right privileges to executing without major problems, I think there's something strange in way you uncompressing zip files.

About drag and drop, it's done by applet. The last button on the right at toolbar will show a popup windows. You must drag and drop files directly from desktop there.
