No, we don't changes the rest endpoint because of authentication, but to develop a more powerful rest endpoint.

On professional we have included a way to extend default API with plugins, this is still not available in community version. If you are doing complex actions I suggest for maintenance use the API ( com.openkm.api ) what it have less changes between versions.
