Hi,

I upgraded to version 6.3.0 community. Now everytime I log into, I get a popup message:
Code: Select all
[Scanner] Browser has not Java support, extension has been disabled
[Uploader] Browser has not Java support, extension has been disabled
Is there a way, to disable this popup?

And beside, there is an orthographic mistake. I think it should be "Browser has no Java support, extension has been disabled"

Thanks!

We've corrected the translation. You can also change at Administration -> Languages -> english -> looking for key "browser.java.support.not.found.extension.disabled"

About why it happens, basically your browser has no java support than causes these extensions can not been enabled. In professional version -> profiles -> General tab there's a property called "Show events notification", take a look if you got it also in community.

You got source code if you want to doing changes can do yourself. Community comes as is. When doing a major release we expose one of our internal branches. At this time this feature - althought be mininal change - has not going into because was still not present in the branch we selected to expose. On future release will comes but our effort to introduce it at the present will be zero. Sorry, but I think I must be so clear at this point.

Our priority at the present is doing some customer enhancements, if you've followed us last six months, really between we've announced in forum that we will doing release and when really has been done has passed a lot of time, more than the expected. For preparing a major community release like this, we expend about 3-5 days. Form here until the next major version be released, only we will working on community version for doing bug patches, and some minor enhancements if we consider necessary or comes from community developers.

Hi,
i have the same problem using the 6.3.0 version.

I have a question for Joycafe:
these strings:
Code: Select all
use okmdb;
update okm_profile set PRF_TB_SCANNER_VIS='F' where PRF_ID=1 ;
update okm_profile set PRF_TB_UPLOADER_VIS='F' where PRF_ID=1 ;

commit;
SELECT PRF_TB_SCANNER_VIS,PRF_TB_UPLOADER_VIS FROM okmdb.okm_profile ;
where i have to write it?
in okmdb.log?

Or,
there is another way to remove this pop up?

Thank you!

In Administration you have the database query, I think Lapo wants you disabling features what need java support from browser.

About Catscratch question of "premium feature". Well, really professional edition goes 2-3 years in front of community edition. What we are doing each year - what we call as major release - is take an older professional edition - code - and release as community one ( always in this direction ). It's only a question of time this feature will be released in community edition. This way of working is the most comfortable for us, we are maintaining a lot of versions at same time, actually 6.4 professional, 6.2.x professional, 6.3 community and during 1 year or more we have been working on version 7 what will be a great change between actual 6.4. Releasing community directly from one older professional gives community users new features on application, also another advantage is that almost code is well tested and there are less bugs and finally the cost in time for maintaining the release is fewer from our side.

Probably we will spend 1-2 weeks on community to give a better look & feel ( styles etc... ). Login UI with better colors etc... basically a general cleaning on all UI.

Hello to all

After the last update of Firefox there is the same problem with java as in Chrome - both scanner and uploader reports the problem

"Browser has no Java support, extension has been disabled."

IE11 after installing the java reports the same as Firefox and Chrome.

I have these questions:
1. What exactly will not work in the current installation when using Chrome and / or Firefox?
2. What can we do if it is impossible for us to downgrade these browsers?
3. What are future plans of OKM to solve this problem?

Thank you very much for your answers in advance

Uploader and scanner have been removed from the last OpenKM release. Althought version 6.3.3 has still not oficially released you can upgrade from https://github.com/openkm/document-management-system with these steps https://docs.openkm.com/kcenter/view/ok ... guide.html

Hi there,

I had the same problem after my distro (OpenSUSE Tumbleweed) updated Firefox to 52.0. No NPAPI plugin support, thus no Java and no mass uploader. At that time I used OpenKM Community 6.3.2. There is an extended support release branch of Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/o ... tions/faq/). Firefox 52.0 ESR still has NPAPI plugin support until early 2018. So I installed Firefox ESR 52 in a virtual machine (based on Linux Mint) and mass uploader was working again there.

Then I tried to emulate a mass upload with the ZIP option in the file upload. It worked very well so I decided to update OpenKM Community to 6.3.3 following the steps described above. After upgrading I had to clear browser cache but then everything worked well. Scanner and mass uploader no more present but I never used the scanner feature and mass uploader is replaced effectively with uploading and unpacking ZIP files.

Hope that this small outline helps somebody, especially the information about Firefox ESR. Thanks to the OpenKM team for making this great piece of software available to the community!

The scanner has definitively deprecated in favour of Windows scanner tool. About bulk upload tool we still do not have replacement for it.
