Hello,

I really like OpenKM and I am just a step before starting to use it.

I just want to do two more things that are important to me:

1) I have a document that is related to another file.I want to upload the document and add the other file as attachment to document. (like you add a keyword in the uploading wizard).

If it can be done then this attachment (or its path) would hopefully be seen in the properties tab of the document (when you select it in Taxonomy).

2) If someone adds a property group to this document, then can this property group has a field where you can add an attachment? (instead of adding a link.. I want to have an attachment field where I can browse to my windows folders and add the attachment).

Can I do something of these things by my own? Are they going to be implemented in a next release? Are they in the professional edition??

I tried to be as clear as I could.. Let me know if you need me to be more specific.

I appreciate your help.Thank you.

Ok, apart from stapling is there other way to do this? I want just to mention somewhere that a file is related to other files. There is no way to do that without stapling??
For example I tried to do it through edit property groups.. but I could only add folder as a "type" or add a link. Could it be something like adding a path there.. that points you to the desired file???

I thing this might have a solution.. it is crucial to the job I am doing..
Thank you in advance guys.

Making the link to the related file do the exact same thing as attaching the file, is there a particular reason that the link won't work in your scenario?

Cheers,

If I add a link (I am talking about the property groups) then when I click on it, a new page opens in the browser with "HTTP Status 404". The paths I have tried for the link are:
/okm:root/TestFolder/myPowerpoint.ppt
okm:root/TestFolder/myPowerpoint.ppt --> with this I get just a blank page on the browser
root/TestFolder/myPowerpoint.ppt
TestFolder/myPowerpoint.ppt

and of course I have tested other files as well.

So, am I doing something wrong??

I have added the ticket http://issues.openkm.com/view.php?id=2558 to extend metadata
Now you could do something simply with notes.

1- Go to desired document to link and there you got in properties the location url ( URL ) -> click on icon this will copy url in your clipboard ( something like this http://demo.openkm.com/OpenKM/index.jsp ... okm%3Aroot )

2- Then go to document to store link and into notes paste it ( I think this can solve your problem on a easy way ).
