Dears

First of all I want to thank you for your awesome DMS product.

And I am wondering if the Opensource edition of OpenKM able to cluster using Jackrabbit configuration (http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/Clustering)?

Note :I have the ability to cluster openKM for failover only using heartbeat but I am looking for scalability and performance

Thank you in Advance,

Mohammed Abbas

for clustering we have opt for other architecture. From version 6.0 that yet have released OpenKM comes with tomcat and propietary database that continues supportin jcr standards that allows us more flexibility. Now cluster is planned as I describe ( a will describe in a top level detail but hope could you take the idea ). Basically tree concepts:

1- Database mysql cluster
2- Several server with OpenKM tomcat installation.
3- Some big hard disk structure ( optical SAN etc... ) to store files
4- Load balanced apache cluster

Basically that's the idea.

Thank you to much for your comprehensive answer .

Last day I download OpenKM 6 Trial and i noted some performance enhancement especially in big file indexing
but you still using old version of jackrabbit 1.6.

When you release the community edition source code ?

Thank You,

If you downloaded OpenKM 6.0 professional trial the default repository engine is not jackrabbit. In openkm 5.1.9 what's available at sourceforge is still using jackrabbit. OpenKM 6.0 Trial comes by default with embeded database and do not have all parametrizations to get optimal performance in great infrastructures, the idea of trial is that user could evaluates general application for evaluating with a great charge at least should change default embeded database for mysql etc...

Ms Office addins will be finished next week to working with version 6.0, they got some new features and will not be the last we will implementing. This version will be compatible with ms office 2010

Now we have let stabilized professional version and we will working on release community among other task we have not yet finished. I think before releasing tomcat version at sourceforge we will release some 5.1.10 with some necessary patches.

We know there're a lot of spectaves about version 6.0, but we prefer waiting some time and release some stable software than a buggy one. People will be waiting some more time but will get less bug problems, until today has been our strategy and seems was acceptable.
