Would it be possible to implement new preview extension? Example: we upload a file with extension *.btl but in real it is a *.txt file or upload a *.3d extension but it is a *.zip file.
Just an idea: In the mime type configuration you could add a Dropdown or where it says preview as txt, zip, Picture....

Could try something easy, from Administration -> mime-type ( third icon from left ) you got mime-type and extension configuration relation. If you see now plain/text refers to [properties, txt], I suggest add there btl and also the same for the 3d case.
