Firefox 52 Joins Chrome - No Support for NPAPI

Firefox just upgraded to version 52 and no longer supports NPAPI/JAVA. This makes two of the main browsers (FF & Chrome) in the world difficult to use with OpenKM Professional. The workaround asking everyone to use older versions of Chrome and Firefox isn't really something I can ask our user base to do. Any progress towards using new APIs in things like live edit and preview in the search tab?

We have removed all the applets from professional version and also from the new community. In professional version we have implemented html5 drag & drop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbFvSNJUnCU and live edit has now it use websocket technology. That means you have the same features what not does not need NPAPI/JAVA browser support. You can check in our online demo ( demo.openkm.com )

Hi there,

just a hint: There is an Extended Support Release branch of Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/o ... tions/faq/). Firefox ESR 52 still has the NPAPI plugin support until early early 2018. You can use this and still receive critical updates.

I replaced mass uploading by using the ZIP feature in the file upload dialog. Works very well - try it out!
